Hi, I’m Jackie!
LPC, RYT-200
I’m so glad you’re here!
Seeking therapy is a sign of inner strength and willingness to begin working on issues that can be overwhelming to face alone. I honor your strength in seeking counseling services and am here to support you on your path to better understanding your story and identity while continuing to practice self-compassion and self-awareness.
A bit about me…
I am a licensed mental health counselor & registered yoga teacher. I enjoy walking alongside adolescents, teens, couples and families on their journeys towards reclaiming their life balance, rhythm and direction.
I received my bachelor’s of science degree at University of Florida in general psychology in 2004 and my master’s of science degree at Northeastern State University in counseling psychology in 2012. I have held my license as a professional counselor since 2016. I worked at the Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) for close to 10 years; first as an intern then as a psychological clinician traveling around the state, administering mental health evaluations for youth in state custody. I have worked as a therapist at a community mental health agency and was a school counselor for a brief time at Riverfield Country Day School. I love all animals, enjoy camping, learning new things, spending time with my friends and family, and doing yoga.
My goal for your treatment…
I hope to support your individual healing in the most authentic, personal way for you- because I understand we’re all different. Counseling can get uncomfortable at times but together we can find the tools to help you grow stronger while weathering any storm. Any techniques you would like to try or recommendations (journaling, meditation, etc.) I think could benefit you, we will discuss in detail so that we are both well informed and there are no surprises.
My ultimate goal for your therapy is to empower you to experience healing through psychotherapy, breath work, yoga, and any other mindfulness modalities to which you may feel drawn. Healing lies in vulnerability. Vulnerability is expressed through sharing your emotions, talking through setbacks, understanding your own needs, and trusting yourself enough to listen… to yourself and others.
Not into yoga or mindfulness? That’s okay! We will work together to acknowledge the past and anticipate the future—while recognizing gratitude in the present moment.
This is Bernadette and she will be a therapy dog…some day. She is willing to occasionally come to sessions for additional support upon request.
This is Jojo. She wants to know why you’re looking at her.

A holistic approach to therapy
It’s so important to heal the whole person! Holistic therapy utilizes a range of techniques to help individuals understand their symptoms. When we feel sad or happy or annoyed, where do we feel them? Maybe you feel anxiety in your stomach or anger in your chest. Those feelings might be represented in different places of your body for you than for me, as well as the reasons behind why we are experiencing these feelings.
By bringing more awareness to these sensations, thoughts or emotions and being curious about them instead of judging them, we can learn to sit with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in a safe space.
